The most common planning question we get is not about price — it is "how long do I need to be there?" Book too short and you risk flying before the surgeon clears you; too long and you burn leave and hotel nights. Here are the realistic stay lengths our coordinators plan around in 2026.
Quick reference
LASIK / eye procedures: 3 days. Diagnostics, surgery, next-day check. Hair transplant: 4–5 days. Consult, procedure day, first wash and headband removal. Hollywood smile / veneers: 6–7 days. Lab turnaround sets the floor. Dental implants: two visits — 3–5 days to place implants, then 4–5 days for final crowns after 3–4 months of healing. Rhinoplasty: 7–8 days, cast off before you fly. Liposuction / tummy tuck: 7–10 days with two follow-ups. Gastric sleeve: 6–8 days including 2–3 hospital nights. Knee replacement: 12–15 days including first physiotherapy sessions. IVF: 15–20 days for a full cycle, or two shorter visits with monitoring at home.
Why we pad the schedule
Every plan we build includes one buffer day. Swelling that needs one more review, a lab that wants an extra fitting, a flight-fitness check the surgeon insists on — the buffer absorbs it without rebooking flights. When patients cut this day, small delays become expensive.
Combining recovery with a holiday
For most cosmetic and dental patients, the second half of the stay is genuinely free time — which is why many recover in Sharm El Sheikh or on a Nile-view hotel terrace rather than at home on a sofa. Recovery downtime is the same; the view is not.
