Vascular Surgery
Varicose Veins (EVLA)
Walk-in, walk-out laser treatment for varicose veins.
Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) treats varicose veins through a tiny puncture — no open surgery. A thin laser fibre seals the faulty vein from the inside and blood simply reroutes to healthy veins. It is performed under local anaesthesia at our flagship Vascular Art Clinic in Heliopolis, and most patients walk out the same day.
How your journey runs
- Day 1 — Arrival. Met in Cairo, hotel check-in, and a coordinator briefing.
- Day 2 — Mapping & treatment. Duplex ultrasound mapping of the affected veins, then the EVLA procedure under local anaesthesia — walk in, walk out.
- Day 3 — Light recovery. Gentle walking is encouraged, your compression garment is fitted and a nurse checks the leg.
- Day 4 — Rest day. A calm day, with a felucca on the Nile or a quiet outing once your surgeon clears it.
- Day 5 — Follow-up scan. A repeat duplex scan confirms the vein has sealed and you are cleared to fly.
- Day 6 — Departure. Final review and transfer to the airport.

Am I a candidate?
Most symptomatic varicose veins suit EVLA. Send a recent leg ultrasound or simply describe your symptoms on WhatsApp and our vascular surgeon reviews them before you travel. If your case is better served by a different approach — sclerotherapy for spider veins, or surgery for very large clusters — we will say so honestly, with no deposit taken.
Aftercare
You wear the compression garment for a short period, keep up light walking, and your surgeon stays reachable remotely while the treated vein settles over the following weeks.

Frequently asked questions
Why is varicose-vein treatment more affordable in Egypt? +
The laser platform and clinical protocol match those used in Europe; the difference is lower clinic overheads and a favourable exchange rate, bundled into one transparent all-in price.
Is EVLA painful, and is it really walk-in, walk-out? +
It’s done under local anaesthesia — you feel pressure, not pain — and there is no overnight hospital stay. Most patients walk out the same day and are encouraged to walk lightly straight away.
Will I need compression stockings afterwards? +
Yes, for a short period to support healing. They’re included in the package and fitted for you before you leave the clinic.
Can I sightsee and recover by the Red Sea after? +
Yes — light walking aids recovery, so a gentle Nile day or a calm Red Sea stay fits the plan once your surgeon clears it after the follow-up scan.
How long does the result last? +
A treated vein is permanently sealed and absorbed by the body. New varicose veins can appear elsewhere over time, which is why your surgeon advises on prevention and stays reachable for remote follow-up.
