Egypt Medical Visa, Plainly: 2026 Update

Who needs one, who gets visa-on-arrival, and how a CURE PASS invitation letter speeds things up at Cairo airport.

The visa question is the one that stops people booking — not because it is hard, but because it is unclear. Here is the plain 2026 version for patients travelling to Egypt for treatment.

Who gets visa-on-arrival

Most GCC nationals enter Egypt without a prior visa, and many other nationalities can buy a tourist visa-on-arrival at Cairo airport or arrange a straightforward e-Visa online beforehand. For the majority of our patients, no special “medical visa” is required at all — a standard tourist entry covers a treatment-and-recovery trip. Always confirm your specific nationality’s rule before you fly, as entry rules change.

When you need more than a tourist entry

If your treatment plan means an extended stay, or you are travelling from a country whose nationals need a pre-approved visa, you may need supporting documents. That is where the paperwork matters — and where we help.

How a CURE PASS invitation letter helps

For patients who need documentation, we issue an invitation letter from the treating clinic confirming your appointment, the procedure, the dates and your accommodation. It does two things: it supports any visa application you need to make in advance, and it smooths the conversation at Cairo airport by showing a clear, legitimate reason for your visit. Bring it printed.

What to carry

  • A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel date.
  • Your CURE PASS invitation letter and appointment confirmation.
  • Hotel/accommodation details (we provide these).
  • Return or onward ticket.

Send us your nationality and travel dates on WhatsApp and we will tell you exactly which route applies to you — no guesswork.

From the CURE PASS concierge desk. General guidance only; confirm current rules for your nationality before travel.
