How the trip works
Day 1: full diagnostic workup — corneal topography, pachymetry, dilated exam. This is the gatekeeper: roughly one in ten candidates is told LASIK is not right for them and offered alternatives (PRK, ICL) or advised against surgery entirely. A clinic that operates on everyone the same day is a red flag. Day 2: the procedure — about ten minutes per eye, done awake under numbing drops. Day 3: the follow-up check, then you can fly.
Is it worth flying for?
Honestly: if you live somewhere LASIK costs under $1,200, probably not — the savings will not cover the trip.
